End capitalism before it kills us! 🌹

Americans deserve better. The system that underlies nearly all political problems in our country is the nature of capitalism. It is the incentive structure that pins the worker against their boss, tenant against landlord, consumer against the billionaire. This is the system that incentivizes exploitation of democratic process, the environment, the global south, and most importantly, the people of the working class. There cannot be true democracy without democratizing the workplace and the economy at large. As we all despise politicians and elites feeling as though the government is against us, but we need no conspiracy explanation. Politicians are controlled by lobbyists, PACs and NGOs which are funded directly by corporations who consider it a business expense to manipulate public policy in their interest. There is nothing to hide here; this is how it has worked for centuries. This capitalist system is responsible for creating centuries of exploitation, homelessness, poverty, imperialism, wars, wage slavery, and genocide. Our task is to do the hard work of tearing down this system, not only for our own betterment but for the world through revolution. Only then can we rebuild a socialist society in its place, one constructed based on empathy and oriented for the well-being of all people, not profit for the rich.

ā€œBe ruthless with systems, be kind with people.ā€

—Michael Brooks

This is a writing project I started for essays on current and historical politics from a modern socialist lens. I find it essential to create working class solidarity between all people, that includes people who I disagree with but who are curious to explore new ideas. I believe with the right conditions, people are willing to give up their pre-conceived biases to fight for their class interests. I cover a broad range of political topics with no particular focus but I do like to give more attention to important international events. I hope to expose how the Republican Party seeks regression into fascism and how the Democratic Party enables them by protecting the status quo and crushing the left. We need to stop thinking about politics in the false two-party dichotomy and instead see that it is really the working-class against the capitalist class.

I by no means claim to be unbiased, there is no such thing as purely ā€˜non-ideological’ writing. I am, however, objective and look at thinks materially. Although I'm willing to extend a hand to people who accept it and want to learn, I have no tolerance for those who perpetuate hate. There is simply no room for misogyny, bigotry, racism, or xenophobia in our society. I am adamant in supporting queer rights, trans rights, abortion, anti-imperialism, feminism, and anti-racism. Also, fuck fascists.

Thank you for reading my work!

The future plans for the project are building a website to produce more in-depth content. I wish to add annotation and interactive features to these articles for enhanced clarity along with further elaboration on complex ideas that can’t be explained in the middle of an essay. I have many future ideas for long form content dives into topics in lengthy detail that will need an editor. I welcome all criticism and thank you again for reading.
